MSCA Student Chapter is Forming a New HVACR/MSCA Alumni
Organization
Greater Michigan Mechanical Service Contractors Association
(MSCA) in conjunction with the Ferris State University
(FSU) MSCA Student Chapter, has launched a new Alumni
organization.
Their initial event,
the First Annual FSU MSCA Chapter and MSCA Alumni
Reception, was held on March 18, 2003, at the Rankin
Center, on the FSU Campus. The reception was enjoyed
by all. The FSU MSCA Student Chapter was the sponsor
of the event.

The Alumni organization is being
formed as a part of the Chapter's Career Development
initiative. They are establishing the Alumni organization
along with a HVACR University wide alumni organization.
The FSU MSCA Student Chapter was founded six years
ago by the Greater Michigan MSCA. The Chapter has
received national MCAA recognition with awards for
Student Chapter of the Year in 2000 and 2003. The
Chapter was also a finalist in the 2003 National
Student Chapter Design Competition. Each year, the
Student Chapter continues to grow and add new activities
and programs.
The FSU Student Chapter is extremely
excited about the new Alumni organization and plans
to expand the organization in the future. If you

Schedule for the
Coming 2003-2004 School Year

The Ferris State University
(FSU) Student Chapter of the Mechanical Contractors
Association (MSCA), held its Annual Chapter Retreat
on May 3rd at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids,
Michigan. The retreat helped to provide the Student
Chapter with goals and objectives
for the coming 2003-2004 school year.
Retreat participants included current
Chapter Officers, newly elected Chapter Officers,
and the FSU Student Chapter Advisors. During the
retreat, attendees took time to reflect on the chapter's
2002-2003 academic year activities.

The Chapter
continues to have a strong and active membership
base. The past year was an extremely busy and
rewarding year for the FSU Student Chapter; it
participated in, or sponsored more than twenty
different activities.
This past year, the Chapter
received national MCAA recognition with Student
Chapter of the Year Award.
The Chapter

Student Chapter
continues to grow and add new activities and programs.
Retreat attendees discussed ways to enhance current
programs and improve processes for the 2003-2004
academic year. Plans for the upcoming 2003 MSCA
Fall Conference began. The group was able to define
specific areas of improvement for the coming year.
The FSU Student Chapter discussed in detail the
the new Alumni organization There was great discussion
about the "next steps" for the Alumni
organization.
Brainstorming during the
retreat helped attendees to develop a road map for
future programming and activities. The Chapter will
continue with an aggressive schedule for the coming
school year by kicking off its 2003-2004 activities
with a Fall Freshman Welcome event.
