Greater
Michigan PMC Sponsors Youth Group Assisting Jackson, Tennessee
Tornado Victims
Greater
Michigan Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Association,
Inc. (PMC) helped sponsor the Dexter, St. Joseph Parish Youth
Group's July trip to Jackson, TN to assist the National Relief
Network in cleaning up after the May 4th tornado.
Scott
Harding, the Executive Director of the National Relief Network,
says "I have just returned from Jackson, Tennessee. During
the last ten years only once before, in Oklahoma City, have
I seen this much destruction caused by a tornado."
The
National Relief Network sent out a call for help for the families
in this Tennessee community. PMC helped sponsor the youth group
volunteer assistance. The volunteers noted that pictures cannot
come close to revealing what it's like to actually see the destruction
of hundreds
of homes, block after block and mile after mile. Many a tear
was shed during this trip while hugging people who were overwhelmed
beyond words to know that others cared enough to travel great
distances to bring them aid.
